Tangerang, Banten (Antara) - Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Banten province will add extra flights to anticipate a mass exodus of Idul Fitri homebound travelers. The extra flights consist of 1,576 seats for domestic flights and 229 seats for international flights, the airport's senior general manager Bram Bharoto Tjiptadi said on Friday. The domestic extra flights included those to Balik Papan, Denpasar, Makasar, Medan, Pontianak, Surabaya and Yogyakarta, and the international extra flights included those to Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore, he said. To help passengers, the management of the airport has set up four command posts, consisting of one main command post and four sub-command posts at each of the airport's terminal, he said. He predicted a mass exodus of Idul Fitri homebound travelers at the airport will begin on Friday (August 2) as some of employees have taken leave. "The mass exodus of homebound travelers will begin tonight as some of employees have taken leave," he said. Tri S. Sunoko, president director of state airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II said earlier the airport is ready to serve Idul Fitri homebound travelers this year. "All elements of the airports have been ready," he said. To ensure the smooth transportation of homebound travelers, Transportation Minister E.E Mangindaan inspected the airport's preparations, including infrastructures, facilities and security recently.
