Jakarta (ANTARA) - TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto paid respects to the body of Second Corporal (Posthumous) Rico Pramudia at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on April 28, honoring a soldier who died after an attack in Lebanon.
In a post on his official Instagram account that ANTARA quoted here Wednesday, Subiyanto was seen saluting the coffin draped in the Indonesian flag.
“The nation pays its highest respect for his service and dedication beyond the call of duty,” Subiyanto wrote.
He said Pramudia’s service would be remembered as part of Indonesia’s contribution to maintaining global peace.
He added the fallen soldier’s dedication would serve as an example for all Indonesian Armed Forces personnel.
“Farewell, your loyalty and devotion will inspire all TNI soldiers,” he said.
After arriving in Jakarta, the body will be flown to Medan, the capital of North Sumatra Province, for handover to the family, though funeral arrangements have not been announced.
Pramudia was among three TNI soldiers injured in the Lebanon attack.
TNI Spokesperson Aulia Dwi Nasrullah said Pramudia suffered severe injuries, while two others sustained minor wounds and are receiving treatment.
The injuries occurred when an Indonesian contingent post in Adshit al-Qusyar, South Lebanon, was hit by artillery on March 29.
Another soldier, Farizal Romadhon, was killed at the scene in the same incident.
Pramudia had been evacuated to St. George Hospital in Beirut for intensive treatment.
A preliminary UNIFIL finding indicated the attack was caused by Israeli artillery.
