20 Countries Sernding Delegates to Makassar's CAPDI Conference

Makassar, South Sulawesi (Antara) - Delegates from 20 countries are arriving here to attend the second conference of the Centrist Asia Pacific Democrats International (CAPDI) which will last until May 21.
"At least 20 participating countries are sending their delegates to the conference, among others, from the Philippines, Taiwan, China, Cambodia, Mexico, Italy and Britain," Steering Committee Chairman Iskandar Manji said here on Sunday.
He said that the delegates were expected to have arrived by Monday, May 20, 2013.
Iskandar said that Cambodia and the Philippines would send their heads of state while other countries would be represented by delegates with backgrounds as prime ministers, politicians, businesspeople and members of parliament.
"The conference will discuss three main agenda items on the Asia-Pacific region," he said.
The three agenda consisted of world peace in the Asia-Pacific region, global climate change and economic issues in the region.
Earlier in the day, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and former Philippine president Fidel Ramos have arrived in Makassar to attend the second conference of the CAPDI.
"Hun Sen who arrived at 1.0 pm Central Indonesian Standard Time (WIT) was greeted by Indonesian former vice president Jusuf Kalla. Fidel Ramos will arrive in the afternoon," Kalla's special staff Egy Massadiah said meanwhile.
Egy said that the Cambodian prime minister arrived together with a 30 member Cambodian delegation while Fidel Ramos would be accompanied by a number of Philippine senators and businesspeople. (*)
