Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian and Belarusian business players agreed on business commitments through five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) totaling Rp7 trillion (US$397.6 million) during the 8th Indonesia-Belarus Joint Commission (SKB) Meeting in Minsk, Belarus.
The five MoUs cover collaborations between PT Pupuk Indonesia and Nedra Nezhin, PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and OJSC Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1, PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and Energi Complekt, PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and OJSC Dolomite, and PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya and Belindo Trade.
The partnership agreements were signed alongside the Agreed Minutes of the 8th Indonesia-Belarus Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, endorsed by Indonesian Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich.
"The understanding reached in this Joint Commission must be translated into concrete steps that have a direct impact on improving economic relations between Indonesia and Belarus," Hartarto said in an official statement in Jakarta on Friday (May 15).
During the meeting, the two countries discussed various areas of cooperation, including trade, investment, industry, agriculture and food security, forestry, banking, health, education, science and technology, culture, sports, and tourism sectors.
Meanwhile, Karankevich reaffirmed Belarus’ commitment to strengthening cooperation with Indonesia, particularly in the industrial, agricultural, and technology sectors, while also expanding collaboration opportunities for businesses in both countries.
