TVRI, RRI, ANTARA promote 2026 World Cup broadcast

Jakarta (ANTARA) - State broadcaster TVRI, state radio RRI, and ANTARA News Agency are promoting the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup broadcast.

"This is our shared event; football brings joy to everyone," TVRI Acting President Director Rika Damayanti said on Sunday.

She expressed appreciation to ANTARA and RRI for their collaboration in promoting the tournament.

The tournament will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.

As the official broadcaster, TVRI will air all 104 matches on its national and sports channels.

Damayanti said the promotion aims to ensure the broadcast reaches all segments of society.

The campaign carries the theme "Joyful Football" to encourage public participation and enthusiasm.

Similar promotional events were held simultaneously at 34 regional TVRI stations.

The opening match will feature Mexico against South Africa on June 12.

The free-to-air broadcast aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive to ensure public access to major sporting events.
