Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - A Dutch national has been a victim of murder by two unidentified individuals in Kuta, Badung District, Bali, with the local police investigating the crime.

"The victim suffered from stab wounds in some parts of his body and was declared dead after receiving medical attention," she said on Tuesday.

The police officer stated that the victim was murdered while he was walking to the villa with his girlfriend, who is currently a witness, at around 10 p.m. local time.

When they arrived, the witness saw two suspicious men approach on a motorcycle, get off the vehicle, and immediately attack the Dutch victim with a weapon.

Fearing for her safety, the witness ran away from the scene. After the perpetrators fled, she returned to the victim, who had sustained stab wounds, and called for help.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, arriving unconscious. Despite medical intervention, he was pronounced dead at 11:29 p.m. local time, with blood loss identified as the cause of death.

Following the probe at the crime scene, police officers secured several pieces of evidence, including a blade, eyeglasses, a cell phone, a pair of sandals, and parts of a torchlight.

The police also noted the absence of CCTV cameras at the crime scene, despite the presence of a unit at the entrance to the alley.

According to First Adjunct Inspector Inastuti, the police suspect two individuals were involved in the stabbing, one wearing an orange shirt and the other a jacket associated with an online ride-hailing service during the stabbing.
