Chair of the National Economic Council Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated that through the council, he is tasked with helping the government to digitize the national economic system to make it more efficient.

“President Prabowo asked me to help in improving the governance. With digitalization in governance, I think it will make our work more efficient," he remarked.
The council chair is upbeat that the presence of the National Economic Council in the Red and White Cabinet can support the Mineral and Coal Information System (Simbara).
"Our soft revenues, such as e-catalog, Simbara, Simbara for nickel, Simbara for palm oil, and also government technology, are President Prabowo's targets," he remarked.
He further remarked that the digitalization of the national economic system is part of the quick-win programs of President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
According to Luhut, the National Economic Council is targeting to bring improvements in the economic digitalization system within a working period of the next one to two years.
He further highlighted that the implementation of e-catalog version 6 would make 85 percent of government procurement better.
Luhut was inaugurated on Monday along with ministers and other officials of the Red and White Cabinet.
Before being appointed chair of the National Economic Council, Luhut had served as coordinating minister for maritime affairs and investment in the Onward Indonesia Cabinet since 2019.
