Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister and National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Head Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) socialized the benefits of land as business capital to improve the welfare of Central Java's residents.
"Land certificates are used for business capital. Do not use it for anything wrong," the minister told the residents of Wonorejo Village in Semarang District, Central Java, on Saturday.
He recommends that residents looking to pledge land certificates utilize the funds obtained as business capital rather than for purchasing things.
"If it is used as business capital, it can generate profit," AHY emphasized.
On that occasion, the agency head also reminded residents against lending or giving their land certificates to irresponsible and unauthorized parties.
According to AHY, land certificates are valuable assets and should be protected.
“This is a valuable asset that must be looked after carefully. Do not be careless in lending this to unauthorized, irresponsible parties," he warned the residents.
The minister made this statement after distributing 400 land certificates directly to residents at Wonorejo Village.
As of July 2024, some 251 district and city land offices have implemented electronic land certificates.
According to the official ATR/BPN statement, more than 135 thousand electronic land certificates in the form of Ownership Certificates, Use of Rights Certificates, and Waqf Land Certificates have been circulated, and the process will be accelerated in the future.
The ATR/BPN Ministry guarantees data on electronic land certificates and continues to strengthen the digital security system or cybersecurity mechanisms to provide the community with a sense of security.
This step is crucial in light of the threats posed by the growth in the number of crimes in information technology.
"We want to ensure that residents have a valid certificate from the state to prevent it from easily being stolen, manipulated, or counterfeited by anyone," AHY emphasized.
