Lamongan, E Java (Antara) -- The Barito Putra soccer club of South Kalimantan province defeated Persela Lamongan soccer club of East Java 2-0 (0-0) in the inaugural match of the Indonesia Super League (ISL) here on Saturday. The ISL match was held at the Surajaya sports stadium in the East Java provincial district of Lamongan on Saturday afternoon. The first goal was scored by Agi Pratama in the 88th minute, while the next was scored several minutes later by Taolohu Abdul Musafri. David Pagbe and Zainal Haq of Persela Lamongan had the opportunity to score in the 37th and 39th minutes, respectively, but both players failed to do so. For this inaugural match, Barito Putra fielded Aditya Harlan (goalkeeper), Igor Radusinovic, Leonard Tupamahu, Rizky Pora, Hansam Yama Pranata, Lucky Wahyu, Dedi Hartono (Agi Pratama), Syahroni (Amirul Mukminin), Manahati Lestusen (Paulo Sitanggang), T. A. Musafri, and Anthoni Putro Nugroho. Persela Lamongan fielded Choirul Huda (goalkeeper), Taufik Kasrun (Zainal Haq), Arif Ariyanto (Yogi Novrian), David Pagbe, Eki Taufik, Mahyadi Panggabean, Balsa Bozovic, Zainal Arifin, Jusmadi, Bijahil Chalwa (Agus Salim), and Pedro Javier. The soccer tournament this year, which kicked off on Saturday, April 4, has only 16 participating soccer clubs as a result of the verification conducted by the Indonesian Professional Sports Agency (BOPI). The 16 clubs that will compete in the tournament this year are Semen Padang FC, Sriwijaya FC, Persib Bandung, Persija Jakarta, Persipura Jayapura, Bali United, Barito Putera, Persiram Raja Ampat, Pusamania Borneo FC, PSM Makassar, Persiba Balikpapan, Mitra Kukar, Persela Lamongan, Perseru Serui, Pelita Bandung Raya, and Gresik United.
