Jakarta (Antara) -- The qualifying matches of the Under-23 (U-23) AFC Cup will be held in Jakarta's Bung Karno Stadium (GBK), beginning March 27, an official said. Director for Development Affairs of the GBK Raja Parlindungan Pane confirmed here on Thursday that the GBK was available for the qualifying matches of the AFC Cup, a day after British boy band One Direction's concert is held there. Earlier, Secretary General of the All-Indonesia Football Association (PSSI) Joko Driyono had noted that he had communicated with the four participating teams of the AFC Cup qualifiers. Commissioners of the matches will arrive in Jakarta two days before the event is scheduled to begin. They will provide assistance and supervise preparations for the games in GBK. However, Driyono is unsure whether the stadium will pass the field test before the match due to the use of a grass cover for the One Direction concert. In accordance with the schedule, qualifiers of the AFC Cup will be kicked off on Friday, March 27. While South Korea will play against Brunei Darussalam, host Indonesia will face Timor-Leste, Pane said here on Thursday. In addition, the Indonesian squad will compete against Brunei Darussalam on Sunday, March 29, while South Korea will face Timor-Leste. On the last day of the qualifiers on Tuesday, March 31, Indonesia will face South Korea, while Brunei Darussalam will play against Timor-Leste. (*) Reported by Bayu Kuncahyo
