Surabaya, E Java (Antara) - The Surabaya city government conducted a urine test for drugs on 275 Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers on Friday. The move was part of the efforts to prevent bylaw enforcement officers from violating regulations, including narcotics abuse, Chief of Satpol PP in Surabaya city Irvan Widyanto said here on Friday. "The tests were carried not just because some of the Satpol PP members were found involved but as part of our prevention efforts," he explained. "I think we'd better prevent them (from abusing drugs) and make sure that none of them has abnormal behaviors such as officers in other regions. We won't let them abuse drugs," he added. The urine test on Satpol PP officers was the first of its kind by the city government, remarked Irvan who is a former chief of the administrative section of the Surabaya city government. The 275 Satpol PP officers who gave the urine test on Friday belonged to the first batch.
