Jakarta, Jan 15 (Antara) - Budi Karya Sumadi was inaugurated as the new president director of airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II for the period of 2015-2019 to replace Tri Sunoko here on Thursday. State Enterprises Minister Rini M Soemarno inaugurated Budi Karya Sumadi and five other members of the board of directors of PT Angkasa Pura II in the presence of Transportation Minister Iganius Jonan at the ministry of transportation. Rini said Budi Karya Sumadi has integrity to improve the quality of service and security at all airports managed by Angkasa Pura II. PT. Angkasa Pura II operates 13 airports in western Indonesia including Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta and Kualanamu International Airport, Medan, North Sumatra. Rini said the main tasks of the new board of directors include improving airport safety and security, developing airports as the main gates to Indonesia that reflect national culture. They must also be more creative to assure attention to details such as cleanliness, orderliness, friendliness and security, she said. Five other members of the board of directors are Faik Fahmi, Djoko Murjatmodjo, Ituk Herarindri, Daan Achmat and Andra Y Agussalam. Budi Karya Sumadi who was president director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) was born in Palembang on December 18, 1956. He had been proposed as housing minister when President Joko Widodo formed his cabinet because of his concrete innovative concept but after his name was not in the cabinet the government finally named him president director of Angkasa Pura II.
