Beijing (Antara) - Indonesia's president Joko "Jokowi" Widodo arrived in Beijing on Saturday afternoon to attend the 22nd Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) summit slated for November 10-11.
The President and his entourage aboard the presidential plane landed at Capital International Airport in Beijing and were welcomed by Indonesian ambassador to China and Mongolia, Soegeng Rahardjo, and Chinese government representatives.
President Jokowi's entourage included First Lady Iriana, chief economic minister Sofyan Djalil, cabinet secretary Andi Widjajanto, deputy chairperson of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) GKR Hemas and daughter Kahiyang Ayu.
After a brief rest, President Jokowi and the entourage proceeded to the hotel where they would stay before paying a courtesy call to Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday.
President Jokowi is also scheduled to meet with US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe.
Besides introducing himself as the new president of Indonesia, President Jokowi would discuss the state of Indonesia's relations with various countries and ways to enhance cooperation with them. (*)
