Surabaya, E Java (Antara) - Indonesia's women's single player Fitriani defended a title at the Jaya Raya Junior International Challenge 2014 tournament which ended at the Sudirman Sports Stadium in Surabaya, East Java, on Sunday. In the finals, second-seeded Fitriani outplayed her national training camp (pelatnas) mate Gregoria Mariska Tunjung who is fourth-seeded 21-17, 21-10. Fitriani dominated the match as Gregoria appeared to reach an anticlimax and made own mistakes very much. "I did not imagine I would win quickly. Mariska did not play as she did before. The direction of her shuttlecock could easily be read. Since the beginning I had tried to play an offensive type game," Fitriani said. Host shuttlers made a clean sweep of titles in the Junior International Challenge 2014 which offered a total prize of US$ 20 thousand. In men's singles, Indonesia's sixth-seeded Firman Abdul Kholik emerged as a champion after outscoring non-seeded Panji Ahmad Maulana 21-15, 21-13. Top-seeded duo Jauza Fadhila Sugiarto/Apriyani Rahayu won the women's doubles title, having outclassed Yulfira Barkah/Dianita Saraswati pair 21-13, 21-18. The non-seeded pair of Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Frengki Wijaya emerged as a winner in the men's doubles by beating the sixth-seeded duo Akbar Bintang Cahyono/Jeka Wiratama duo 21-15, 21-14.
