Jakarta (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received letters of credence from the new ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary from seven countries at the Merdeka Palace here on Tuesday evening. Six of the seven ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary are based in Indonesia and one resides outside the country. The six ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary are Michal Slivovic of Slovakia, Muhammad Lawal Sulaiman of Nigeria, Attiya Mahmood of Pakistan, Sergey Michev of Bulgaria, Rodrigo Guillermo Riofrio Machucha of Ecuador, and Fransisco Jose Viqueira Niel of Spain. The ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary who is based outside Indonesia is Dr Alpha Diallo of Guinea. At the get-together held after the ceremony to receive the letters of credence, President Yudhoyono highlighted the need for the new ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary to boost cooperation between Indonesia and their countries. During the ceremony, President Yudhoyono was accompanied by Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Minister and State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, and Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam, among others. Teuku Faizasyah, President Yudhoyono's special aide for international relations was optimistic that the ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary can enhance the existing sound relations between Indonesia and their countries.
