Tulungagung, E Java (Antara) - Four companies of the mobile brigade Detachment C (Brimob) of East Java Police Office have been deployed to Tulungagung District to help secure the area after a clash of two groups of local martial arts on Sunday. Three trucks of Brimob personnel were stationed in Tulungagung Police resort, while another company was assigned to secure the conflicting area. "Security is our top priority until the situation is conducive," Chief of Tulungagung Sector Police Station Adjunct Senior Commissioner Whisnu Hermawan Februanto said here Sunday. Police have detained 120 group members of the martial arts, consisting of members of "Silat Pagar Nusa School of Martial Arts" for attacking residential houses and a village hall in Margoharjo Village, Bandung Sub-district and Swaloh Village, Pakel Sub-district of Tulungagung. Police report said following the Silat Pagar Nusa members routine exercise at 10:00 am local time, they began a convoy, as part of martial art exhibition. The convoy then became uncontrolled and neglected the police escort, began to comb and attacked areas of their rival, Silat Setia Hati Teratai (PSHT) martial art school. The PSHT was reported to commit sweeping against villages as the basis of the Pagar Nusa members, who started the raid. However, the Police Chief met the PSHT leader and committed to impose firm action to the provocators. "Police and the PSHT leader have agreed and they will control their members," Februanto said. No victims or casualty reported due to the attack, however the situation on the two neighboring sub-districts was tense as members of Pagar Nusa prepared the armed with stones and lumbers.
