Jakarta (Antara) - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) said two suspects in an alleged corruption case of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia's bioremediation project would be handed over to the Anti-corruption Court (Tipikor) immediately. The two suspects are Bachtiar Abdul Fatah, the general manager of Sumatera Light South (SLS) of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) and Alexiat Tirtawidjaja, the general manager of CPI'S Light North (SLN) operation. Attorney General Basrief Arief said here on Friday that the two suspects would be tried at the Tipikor court. The Tipikor panel of judges has previously handed down a punishment after it found guilty two suspects in the same case, namely Ricksy, the director of PT Green Planet Indonesia (PT GPI) and Herlan, the director of PT Sumigita Jaya (PT SJ). "The Tipikor judges have handed down a punishment (for Ricksy and Herlan), and this means that we have to hand over Alexiat and Abdul Fatah to the Tipokor for trial," the attorney general said. The attorney general also appreciated the court decision, which means that corruption allegation was proven."We appreciate it." The dossiers of Suspect Alexiat Tirtawidjaya have yet to be submitted to the court because she has to accompany her husband who is ill in the United States. The dossiers of Suspect Abdul Fatah could neither yet be transferred to the Tipikor court because the South Jakarta District Court has ruled that his naming as suspect by the AGO is not valid. (*)
