Jakarta (Antara) - The anti-graft commission has yet to detain certain suspects in alleged corruption case of Hambalang sports complex development project because it is still waiting for dossiers from the State Audit Board (KPK), its chief said.
"We have not detained the suspects because we have not yet received the BPK report on the amount of state losses," Abraham Samad, the chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said after attending a seminar on protection and recovery of corrupted state asset here on Thursday.
Up to now, the KPK has not yet detained several suspects in the Hambalang graft case like Andi Mallarangeng and Anas Urbaningrum because it has not yet received the dossiers.
Abaraham said that dossiers which were not yet complete from the BPK hampered the efforts to detain the suspects.
"We hope that the dossiers would have been completed in the coming one or two weeks so that we could detain them," Abraham explained.
Regarding new suspects in the Hambalang sports complex project, Abraham did not rule out the possibility of KPK to name a new suspect. He said that all possibilities were open but the KPK could not yet ascertain whether the number of suspects would increase because all still needed investigation.
"After we have collected all facts and completed the investigation process, we will expose it and make a decision," said Abraham.
Anas Urbaningrum, former general chairman of the ruling Democratic Party (PD), was named a suspect last February by the KPK in connection with the Hambalang project. Anas was suspected to have received a gift linked to the planning, implementation and development of the sports complex. (*)
