Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta - Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Agung Laksono has asked the Indonesian people not to worry about price hikes of basic commodities during the 2012 fasting month. "There is indeed a price rise, but it is a temporary phenomenon due to an increasing demand witnessed simultaneously," Agung said here on Saturday. He noted that the state logistic agency, Bulog, has marked rice reserves of 2 million tons to be distributed to the poor families by the government. "Each poor household usually gets 15 kg of rice from the government month on month, but we will increase it by 30 kg for each household during the fasting month," Agung said. (*)
