Ministers extend wishes, messages of hope on Eid

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Public officials, including Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, conveyed their wishes and shared their hopes for the Indonesian people during Eid al-Fitr celebrations on Monday.

Besides extending apologies during the Eid momentum, Hafid expressed the hope that her ministry will provide more optimal public services.

"Hopefully, with this Eid, we will become better people and we can serve the community much better," she said on Monday.

The message was in line with her post on her ministry's Instagram handle @kemkomdigi, where she highlighted the importance of Eid as a moment to maintain close ties with fellow human beings.

She said she hopes the momentum can also be realized in the digital space.

"Let us make this Eid a momentum to strengthen our harmony, spread kindness, both in real life and in the digital world," she added in the Instagram post.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Puspa hoped for a better year for all people and also gave advice to those traveling during the holiday season.

"For those who are traveling, do not forget to always pay attention to the environment while traveling," she said.

To ensure the holiday and travel remain comfortable, she reminded the public to be wise in choosing tourist attractions to prevent congestion in one area.

The Religious Affairs Ministry determined Eid al-Fitr 1 Shawwal 1446 Hijri would fall on Monday.

On Monday morning, President Prabowo Subianto held an open house at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, which was attended by ministers in the Red and White Cabinet, state figures, officials, and the general public.

The ministers included Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Budi Gunawan; Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Pratikno; and Coordinating Minister for Food, Zulkifli Hasan.

They further included Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono; Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Maman Abdurahman; Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar; and Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir; Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasimta; and Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, also attended the agenda.
