Jakarta (ANTARA) - Investment and Downstream Minister and Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Head Rosan Perkasa Roeslani expressed hope that investment from US entrepreneurs would increase the capacity of Indonesian human resources rather than merely disbursing capital investment.
He conveyed this in a press statement explaining the results of the meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), consisting of 50 US entrepreneurs.
"We hope their investment can also build and increase our human resources’ capacity," he noted at the Presidential Palace area, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Moreover, those investments are expected to accommodate knowledge transfer, especially in the field of technology, Roeslani added.

That way, the domestic workforce can gain knowledge regarding the latest technology used by the global industry, the minister remarked.
He said this request had been conveyed to US entrepreneurs who have expressed interest in investing in Indonesia.
He revealed that some investors were keen to invest in Indonesia. However, they want to increase the investment value since the Indonesian government has committed to supporting an optimal investment climate.
"They said they would invest more because they believed in President Prabowo's administration which has shown its commitment to improve the investment climate in Indonesia and develop the ease of doing business here," Roeslani explained.
During the meeting, Prabowo emphasized no tolerance for corruption that has the potential to hinder investment.
On Tuesday, Prabowo hosted around 50 US businessmen who are members of the US-ASEAN Business Council at the State Palace.
Entrepreneurs from various industries, such as healthcare, food and beverage, tourism, pharmaceuticals and medicines, minerals, oil and gas, and digitalization, expressed their enthusiasm regarding the investments.
Other attendees at the meeting comprised Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartanto, US Ambassador to Indonesia Kamala Shirin Lakhdir, and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hashim Djojohadikusumo.
