Indonesia to Bring Back 1.8 Million Migrant Workers until 2015

Surabaya, E Java, Dec 25 (Antara) - Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa said the government will bring back home 1.8 million Indonesian migrant workers having problem with the law in Malaysia.
The workers would be sent back to their respective home villages or towns and the process would be wrapped up by the end of 2015, the minister said.
"The process would be made by phases starting this week," she said here on Wednesday.
They are not only illegal workers but also those legally entering Malaysia but having problem with the law in that country, she said.
On Tuesday the first group of 494 workers were flown in from Malaysia with a Hercules aircraft.
"The same aircraft will bring back another group today (on Wednesday) from Malaysia," the minister said.
Many other workers having problem with the law in that country have been deported by the Malaysian government via Nunukan , North Kalimantan. (*)
