Langkat, N Sumatra (Antara) - Pangkalan Brandan police confiscated 103 kilograms of marijuana left in a car by suspects who fled away to escape arrest. The car was on its way to North Sumatra capital of Medan from Aceh, Chief of the Pangkal Brandan police unit First Insp. Iswanto said here on Thursday. The car suddenly turned back after its driver or the suspects saw a number of police officers on a routine highway raid early in the morning of Thursday. Suspicious police then went after the car, and found it not long after parked in the middle of the road but without anyone inside. Police found 103 kilogram of dried marijuana packed in four big sacks , Iswanto said. Police brought the car and the marijuana to Medan for further investigation, he said, adding the car may lead to the arrest of the owners or the suspects. (*)
