Jakarta (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said 2013 and 2014 are decisive years with regard to achieving a success in the country's economic development. "The current 2013 and the next 2014 in view of economic development efforts are important and defining," he said at the opening of a cabinet meeting here on Thursday. Firstly, he said, there would be a need to maintain the economy in the period due to external challenges which are not easy to deal with. He said the world's economic conditions would still remain uncertain and recession would still continue. "This situation will give real pressure especially to economic growth," he said. He said Indonesia meanwhile would at the same time also prepare itself for the general elections in 2014 making the domestic political climate to be hotter. "On the one hand we must maintain our economy and on the other we must manage domestic political conditions well as they are also related to economic development efforts," he said. In view of that he said he has called for careful and correct planning of government programs and setting of indicators. "If all is correct any dynamic that may happen will certainly be manageable while we can still focus on achieving the targets set for 2013 and 2014," he said. President Yudhoyono said in the next two years all targets set in the Mid-term National Development Plan for 2009-2014 must be achieved.
