Bandarlampung - The meteorology and geophysics office reported earthquakes early Saturday in two far separaed areas in Indonesia: Lembata in East Nusatenggara and Simelulu in Aceh. The agency said a quake 5.1 on the Richter scale rocked Lembata in East Nusa Tenggara at 01.14 western Indonesia time. The epicenter was in the sea at a depth of 10 kilometers, 41 kilometer northeast of Lembata or 1,874 kilometers southeast of Jakarta, head of the agency Chrismanto said . Chrismanto said almost at the same time and with the same magnitude a quake jolted the regency of Simeulue, around 1,729 kilometers northwest of Jakarta. The quake had an epicenter in the sea at a depth of 10 kilometers around 283 kilometers southwest iof Simeulu. Chrismanto said the quakes would not cause tsunami. (*)
