Tunis (ANTARA/Xinhua-0ANA) - Visiting Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said Monday that Tunisia has a role to play in reconciling the Palestinian factions, state-run TAP press agency reported.
Abbas' remarks came during his meeting with Tunisian Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali, who, for his part, reasserted the North African country's support to the Palestinian cause.
The Palestinian president arrived in Tunisia on Saturday for an official visit.
On Sunday, he laid a flower wreath at the foot of the Martyrs' Mausoleum in Tunis and paid tribute to the Palestinians who died during the 1985 Israeli attack on Hammam Chatt in the southern suburbs of Tunis, TAP reported.(*)
