Surabaya (ANTARA) - Supreme Court of Singapore changed impeachment for Indonesian Labor from Jember, East Java, Vitria Depsiwahyudi who was accused kill her employer, from the death penalty to the life sentence. "The age of the defendant make the judges lighten the punishment from death penalty to life sentence," said Head of East Java's Indonesian Migrant Workers Union (SBMI) Moch Cholily to ANTARA via telephone from Singapore, Friday. The judges deliver the impeachment on the reading session indictment and vindication to Vitria Depsiwahyudi who was still seventeen years old when arrived as migrant labor in Singapore. "The judges decided the trial will be continued on February 15 for the reading of the verdict," said Cholily who came to Singapore along with Vitria Depsiwahyudi's uncle, Samsuki, to represent her father who has died. Regarding the result of the trial, SBMI meet the attorney of the defendant and RI Embassy in Singapore to formulate the stance for the next trials. "It is not true that Vitria threw her employer with a vase and caused his death, but her employer had a natural death because his age," said Cholily. Therefore, he asks for RI Government's support to defend the migrant labor from Jember, Vitria Depsiwahyudi, from life sentence judgment because she was trafficking victim. "The title case result in Department of Labour, Transmigration and Population of East Java on January 11, 2011, concluded she was suspected as trafficking victim," said Cholily. The result was based on the process of recruitment, departure and placement, her age was still seventeen, but the whole documents were falsified. The documents falsification was known by the data about Vitria's name and date of birth were written differently on four proofs, which are ID card, birth certification, family card, and parents agreement letter. Furthermore, Vitria had many recruitment processes by Mashuri (registered as PT Arni Family on Couching, Preparation and Provisioning Management of Migrant Labour 'UP3CTKI'), then delivered to David (registered as branch of PT Okdo Harapan Mulia) and even sheltered at PT Sinergi Bima Karya until departured by PT Mafan Samudra Jaya to Singapore.
