Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD reiterated the government's commitment to continue monitoring the investigation into the murder of Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat, known by his initial as J, until completion.
"The government, through the Coordinating Ministry of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, will continue to oversee the case," Mahfud stated in a press conference here, Tuesday, as observed from the ministry's YouTube channel.
After the police named the suspects, the government will monitor the prosecutor's office in developing the legal construction and indictments proportional to the suspects' actions to be brought to the court, he remarked.
"We hope it will not take too much time, and (the case) will be brought to the court with earnest indictment and prosecution," the coordinating minister stated.
Mahfud also pushed the prosecutors to harbor the same spirit as the National Police to investigate the death of Brigadier J professionally.
"The prosecutor must be professional to handle this case with a formidable legal construction to help the court and residents understand this as an effort to enforce law and justice," he stated.
Meanwhile, the coordinating minister also urged Brigadier J's family to remain calm and patient while placing complete trust in law enforcement institutions to investigate the case and bring all suspects to justice.
"I always heard the family's statement, particularly (Brigadier J's) father, who appealed for God's blessing to ensure the case will be uncovered and addressed justly. Keep your trust on the Divine Justice that will guide efforts to enforce human justice," Mahfud remarked.
He also lauded the police, particularly Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who has shown complete focus to unveil and investigate the murder.
"The government lauded the Indonesian National Police, particularly the police chief, who has investigated and uncovered this case," the coordinating minister remarked. (*)
