The Yogyakarta city government has launched a hotline where tourists can get information and lodge complaints, in addition to posts offering the same services at three locations, to boost tourism services during the Eid holiday.
"There is a hotline that tourists can reach when they need tourism-related information or make a complaint if they receive unfavorable services," head of Yogyakarta Citys Tourism Office, Wahyu Hendratmoko, said here on Thursday.
To access the service, tourists can contact 081138701777 via the WhatsApp application or make a direct phone call.
The Yogyakarta City Tourism Office will prepare officers who will receive incoming calls from tourists. The service will be available round the clock so tourists can obtain information or submit complaints as quickly as possible.
Hendratmoko assured that all requests for information and complaints would be responded to within a day, and if needed, the requests or complaints would be forwarded to the relevant government regional organization (OPD), which will provide an answer within a maximum of two days.
Meanwhile, posts for information and complaints will be opened at three locations: the Yogyakarta Monument, Teteg Malioboro, and the kilometer zero point of Yogyakarta.
The tourism office head expressed the hope that the service will help tourists during their visit to Yogyakarta.
As many as 3.9 million tourists are projected to visit Yogyakarta province, including Yogyakarta city, during the Eid holiday.
"This year's Eid holiday is a good momentum for Yogyakarta city to provide an excellent tourism service because it will be a promotion that tourism in Yogyakarta is safe and comfortable. Not the other way around," he remarked.
During the Eid holiday, the Tourism Office, in collaboration with tour guides, will also open a Tourist Information Service (TIS) booth in front of the Mutiara Malioboro Hotel from May 37, 2022.
The TIS will be equipped with brochures containing information on the services provided by the Yogyakarta city government, including medical emergency services, fire and rescue services, and services during emergencies caused by natural disasters. (*)
