Jakarta, (Antara) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) enjoyed fried chicken with his family during a long holiday culinary weekend to Solo, Central Java, on Saturday.
"The president chose Mbah Kerto Tembel Fried Chicken restaurant to have lunch with his family on Saturday," Deputy of Protocol, Press and Media Affairs of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin, remarked in a press statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
Jokowi arrived at the restaurant at around 13:20 local time accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo. The elder son of the president, Gibran Rakabuming, was also present along with his wife Selvi Ananda and his son Jan Ethes Srinarendra.
The president's daughter Kahiyang Ayu and her husband, Bobby Nasution, had also accompanied the head of state during the culinary visit to the restaurant.
On Friday (March 30) morning, Widodo and his family also enjoyed soto soup at 'Kedai Soto Gading' restaurant at Jalan Brigjen Sudiarto no 75, Joyosuran, Pasar Kliwon.
On Saturday afternoon, the president ordered his favorite menu, namely fried chicken with sambel blondho (black chili sauce). There was a display of warmth and friendliness as the president and the family members enjoyed the food together.
Fried Chicken Restaurant Mbah Karto "Tembel" was established in late 1960s. It was one of the favorite restaurants of the president when he was the mayor of Solo.(*)
