Surabaya, E Java, (Antara) - The number of foreign tourists visiting East Java through Juanda International Airport in Sidoarjo fell 19,88 percent to 17,157 in January 2017 from 21,415 a month earlier.

The decline in the number of tourist arrivals caused the hotel room occupancy rate of the province to fall by 3.74 percent, he said.

He said the room occupancy rates of star hotels in East Java fell 3.74 points to 53.74 percent in January 2017 from 57.48 percent in December 2016.

In January 2017, the room occupancy rate of two-star hotels reached 61.17 percent, the highest among those of other star hotels.
