Jakarta, (Antara) - Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Taiebnia encouraged local private sector to invest in Indonesia in improving economic development of both countries.
"We encourage private sector in Iran to boost interaction with Indonesia's private sector to look at investment opportunities in the country and try to invest in any sector that is interesting for them," the minister told Antara here on Wednesday.
The minister said his country is interested to invest in various sectors in Indonesia including construction of an oil refinery, tourism, infrastructure sector that have appeal for Iranian investors.
The minister emphasized to provide a discussion forum so that private sector in both countries can interact with each other.
Thus, a more serious discussion could be established to improve economic development in Indonesia and Iran so as to encourage the welfare of both countries, the minister stated.
The minister said private sector has a very important role in improving bilateral trade between the two countries.
"Of course, trade of both countries needs to be maintained by private sector. The task of our government and Indonesian government is to prepare a discussion forum to promote potential of both countries to the private sector because they are holding the central role in boosting bilateral trade," he said.
Through the discussion forum, then each country could promote potential or appeal to the private sector to invest.
"The discussion forum is prepared to increase interaction between private sector in both countries in which governments have responsible to organize it," he said.(*)
