Jember, E Java (Antara)- Floods have submerged 362 homes in Jember District, East Java Province, over the past three days, due to incessant heavy rains.
Several residential areas in the sub-districts of Gumukmas, Puger, and Patrang have been hit by floods, Head of the Jember Disaster Mitigation Office (BPBD) Heru Widagdo stated here, Friday.
Floodwaters reaching a height of up to a meter submerged the villages of Bagorejo and Kepanjen in Gumukmas and Mlokorejo village in Puger.
Some 212 families were affected in Bagorejo, 90 families in Mlokorejo, and 50 families in Kepanjen.
Ten houses were flooded in Gebang village in Patrang.
The local authorities have distributed relief aid to the flood victims.(*)
