Surabaya, E Java (Antara) -- The East Java Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) has praised the government for setting up an integrated one-stop service institution to serve local workers seeking overseas employment (LPTSA-P2TKI). "The institution is a breakthrough and must be optimized. It has good programs, which the DPRD will, no doubt, support," Chief of Commission E of the DPRD Agung Mulyono said here on Friday. Head of the National Agency for the Placement and Protection of Migrant Indonesian Workers (BNP2TKI) Nusron Wahid launched the institution at Jagir Street in Wonokromo, Surabaya, on Thursday, May 14. The institution is aimed at helping local workers obtain overseas work documents through a one-stop service. Mulyono stated that the concept of a one-stop service to protect Indonesian migrant workers has met the requirements and that the institution will, hopefully, eliminate brokers for the sake of the migrant workers' security and convenience. "I have learned that the presentation of the concept is very good. With the concept of a one-stop service, everything can be done easily. The fees on document services will be cheaper," he affirmed. In addition, Wibowo, who is a legislator of the Democratic Party faction, noted that he would monitor the institution's performance in one to three months as part of its evaluation.
