Jakarta (Antara) -- The National Police will soon question Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Bambang Widjojanto as a suspect in an election dispute case. "He may be questioned this week, or early in February at the latest. No exact date has been set," spokesman for the National Police Snr. Comsr. Rikwanto said here on Tuesday. Rikwanto stated that investigators are in the process of completing a dossier on the alleged involvement of Widjojanto in the case. The dossier will later be sent to the public prosecutor's office. "If the evidence is concrete, there will be no reason for the investigators not to hand over the dossier to the public prosecutor's office," he pointed out. The Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim) of the National Police Headquarters has questioned at least five witnesses in the case against Widjojanto, Rikwanto noted. Bareskrim detained Widjojanto for questioning on Friday (January 23) at 7.30 a. m. local time, when he was driving his son to his elementary school. (*)
