Incheon, S Korea (Antara) - The Indonesian beach volleyball teams 1 and 2 advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2014 Asian Games after beating their opponents on Thursday.
The Indonesian team 1 comprising Ade Candra Rachmawan/Koko Prasetyo beat the Malaysian pairing of Rafi Asruki Bin Nordin/Mohd Razif bin Mahadi in a straight set 21-11, 21-13 in the round of 16.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian team 2 comprising Dian Putra Santosa/Fahriansyah outclassed naturalized Qatari duo Tiago de J Santos/Jefferson Santos Pereira in a rubber set 11-21, 21-19, 17-15.
"Indonesia 2 has performed its duty well to pave the way for Indonesia 1," Indonesian beach volleyball manager Slamet Mulyono said.
"Thank God Indonesia 2 has won and Indonesia 1 has advanced to the finals," he said. (*)
