Jakarta (Antara) - Flight activities at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport remained normal after a fast food restaurant outside Terminal 2F caught fire early in the morning on Thursday. "The situation at Terminal 2 of the airport is now conducive," Secretary of airport operator PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II Daryanto said in a written statement here on Thursday morning. He said that officials were still cleaning burnt items around the restaurant and passengers were not yet allowed to pass through Gate 3 to the Check-in area. In the meantime, Gate 4 at Terminal 2F which was earlier closed has been opened since 6. a.m. local time, he said. He said that passengers who want to enter the check-in area could pass through Gate 1 and Gate 2 at Terminal 2D and Gate 4 at Terminal 2F. In General, the check-in activities are not disturbed, the AP II secretary said. Daryanto added that the arrival area of Terminal II was not disturbed and all exit gates could be used by arriving passengers. He said that the fire at the fast food restaurant began to emerge at 2.40 a.m. The airport's fire fighters was successful in putting out the fire at 4.30 a.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
