Jakarta (Antara) - China's new ambassador to Indonesia Xie Feng has arrived in Jakarta to replace the previous ambassador Liu Jianchao. "I am very honored to become China's 11th ambassador to Indonesia," Xie Feng said in a press release received by Antara here on Wednesday. As an ancient Asian civilization and a vibrant emerging economy, Indonesia is playing an increasingly important role in regional and global affairs, Xie Feng added. "Thanks to the guidance of our top leaders and the joint efforts of all communities, the China-Indonesia relationship has moved into a new era of comprehensive strategic partnership. Now, a window of opportunity is opening for us to make new history for this relationship," Xie Feng noted. In the next few years, Xie Feng is also looking forward to developing a deep understanding of Indonesia's history, culture, tradition, development story and remarkable changes. "I wish to build strong working relations and deep friendship with all communities in the Indonesian society. Let us work together to push the China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership further forward and improve the quality of life of our two people," Xie Feng added. The new ambassador to Indonesia is confident that the two nations, hand in hand, will contribute to a more peaceful, stable and prosperous Asia-Pacific region.
