Lubuk Sikaping, W Sumatra (Antara) - A landslide buried three villagers in Bukit Panjuik, Tigo Nagari sub-district, Pasaman District, West Sumatra Province, on Thursday.
"Local inhabitants said three persons were most likely buried by landslide as their home collapsed after being hit by the disaster on Thursday morning," Budi Hermawan, a spokesman of the Pesaman district administration, said here on Friday.
The three villagers believed to have died were identified by their names as Idel, 23, Elni, 23, and their child.
The local disaster mitigation office with the help of some volunteers were searching for their bodies believed to have been buried under their house's debris.
The landslide was triggered by incessant heavy rains that had fallen since Wednesday. (*)
