Jakarta (Antara) - The General Elections Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) has issued a recommendation to impose a sanction against the Justice Prosperous Party (PKS) for involving children in campaign rallies. "Bawaslu had made a recommendation on the sanction. Yesterday, at a plenary meeting, I signed a recommendation stating that PKS President Anis Matta had committed administration violation," Muhammad stated here on Thursday. The recommendation letter was sent to the General Elections Commission calling for a sanction to the political party participating the general election, for violating the administrative regulations. The administrative sanction could be by banning the party from conducting campaign activities or giving a warning, he explained. Bawaslu has found indications of children involvement in PKS outdoor campaign rally in the first day of the campaign period. "Based on the proofs and investigation results carried out by Bawaslu, Anis Matta had deliberately involved children in the outdoor campaign rally at Bung Karno Stadium on Sunday (March 16)," Muhammad pointed out. On a television program, Anis Matta emphasized that the involvement of children would help build political militancy since the earliest age as possible. "In an interview with a private television, he (Anis Matta) remarked that PKS deliberately involved children in campaign activities to build political militancy from the earliest age as possible. I think, this is an indication of violation of Law and KPU Regulation No. 25/2013," he stressed. (*)
