London (Antara) - Indonesia is currently participating in Eurochocolate, a chocolate exhibition being held in Perugia, Italy. Arindya Anindita, spokesman of the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, said on Saturday that this year Indonesia, along with Ecuador, was the guest of honor at the chocolate exhibition, continuing from October 18 to 27. Priyo Iswanto, Indonesian Ambassador to Italy, during his speech at the opening ceremony of Eurochocolate, said Indonesia seeks to become among the largest cacao producers in the world in the next four to five years. In fact, the government has announced a national movement, called Gerakan Nasional Kakao, to encourage the local production of cacao, making today¿s environment timely for foreign investment in Indonesia. Among Indonesian goods displayed at Eurochocolate are quality cacao fruit brought from Jember (East Java province), various national brands of chocolate, as well as Indonesian performing arts. Eurochocolate 2013 not only displays chocolate products from various companies, but also sponsors seminars about methods to develop a chocolate industry, field visits to Perugina, the well-known chocolate factory, and a cooking presentation by Italian and Indonesian chefs.
