Jakarta (Antara) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will again question Riau Governor Rusli Zainal as a suspect in two corruption cases related to the construction of National Sports Week (PON) venue and a change in forest function. "It is true RZ (Rusli Zainal) will be questioned as a suspect tomorrow (Friday)," KPK spokesman Johan Budi said here on Thursday. Asked about the possibility of Rusli being detained, Johan said he had not heard of information about it. Rusli has been named a suspect in a corruption case related to a change in the function of forest in Pelelawan district, Riau province, since February 8, 2013. The case came to the light after the KPK investigated an alleged corruption case related to the issuance of permits to manage the forest. A number of local officials have been sentenced for their involvement in the case. They are former Pelalawan district head Tengku Azmun Jaafar, former Siak district head Arwin As, and three former heads of the Riau provincial forestry office Asral Rahman (2002-2003), Syuhada Tasman (2003-2004) and Burhanuddin Husin (2005-2006). Rusli has also been accused of bribing several regional legislators to ease off regulation for the construction of National Sports Game's venue in the province. (*)
