Surabaya, E Java (Antara) - Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan said he is optimistic Indonesia will break into the ranks of 10 largest economies in the world in five to six years.
Currently, Indonesia already has a high position as the 15th largest economy in the world, Gita said.
"Not many are aware of that," he said when giving assistance in the form of carts for local traders in Ponpes Bumi Sholawat, Sidoarjo, East Java on Friday.
In 17-20 years Indonesia could grow further to become the 5th or 6th largest economy in the world, he added. (*)
