Wamena, Papua - The office of the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Mamberamo regency was set on fire on Wednesday morning the day after the Constitutional Court confirmed the KPU decision on the result of an election for the next regent of the district .
The decision of the Constitutional Court was announced on Tuesday and the fire broke out at 0.3.00 early today, police said.
It is suspected that the perpetrators are the supporters of one of the candidates losing in the election held in December last year, Jayawijaya police chief Adj. Sr. Comr F Napitupulu told ANTARA news agency .
Napitupulu, however, said no suspect has been named either individuals or group of supporters. (*)
