Jakarta - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has said security personnel from the lowest to the highest levels should not be hesitant to completely handle security issues. "I make it clear that there should be no doubt in handing security matters, and therefore all security personnel must maintain the security and all of its risks," President Yudhoyono said in a limited meeting at Bogor Palace on Monday. The head of state said public views in mass media indicated that the state was negligent in not properly handling a number of security-related incidents. "During the end of 2012 until early this year I heard various comments to know the perception, thoughts, and the views of the people at large," the president said. He explained that the government should make every effort to improve the situation. "On January 28, I will issue an instruction related to the result of this meeting and I want it implemented during 2013 across the country," the president said at the meeting to discuss issues related to politics, law, and security. The head of state said the main agenda of the meeting which started at 10 am was about government's working plan to ensure the social and security condition at home in 2013. According to the president, the outcome of the meeting would be one of the topics of discussion on politics, law, and security in the upcoming government's working meeting on January 28. President Yudhoyono noted that the nation's social and security condition at home in 2013 should be much better than that in the previous years. (*)
