Cairo, Egypt - Ethiopian Minister of Foreign Affairs Tewadros Adhanom has stated the country wishes to adopt the curriculum and system of diplomatic training provided by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Indonesia. "Indonesia is a country that deserves to be a role model for Ethiopia, particularly in terms of its Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this case, we would like to adopt the system and curriculum of diplomatic training and policy planning of the ministry," he said in a press release received by the Indonesian Embassy in Addis Ababa on Tuesday. Adhanom, the newly appointed Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, also expressed his desire to visit Indonesia next year on a diplomatic mission, along with ambassadors of some friendly countries of Ethiopia. At the event, Indonesian Ambassador to Ethiopia Ramli Saud, on behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa, congratulated Adhanom on his appointment as Ethiopia's Minister of Foreign Affairs. Saud highlighted some programs implemented by the Indonesian Embassy in Addis Ababa, including the laying of the legal basis of economic relations between the two countries. "We, as representatives of the government of Indonesia, will establish the Bilateral Consultative Forum (FKB) for Indonesia and Ethiopia. We will also ensure the implementation of several agreements, such as the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement and the Indonesia-Ethiopia Agreement on Promotion and Investment Protection," he stated. In response, Adhanom praised Saud for his efforts to improve bilateral relations between Indonesia and Ethiopia. (*)
