Surabaya, East Java - The commander of the Royal Thai Navy Submarine Squadron, Rear Admiral Suria Pornsuriya, visited the Indonesian Navy's Development and Education Command (Kobangdikal) here on Tuesday. The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) Submarine Squadron delegation was welcomed by Kobangdikal commander Rear Admiral Sadiman and briefed on the profile of Kobangdikal and system of education used in the institution. The RTN and Kobangdikal also held a dialog on submarine technological development. "The opportunity for cooperation in education and training was also discussed in the meeting," he said. The RTN and Kobangdikal were also willing to increase strategic cooperation the education of navy personnel. "We are willing to continue to build relations and cooperation that has been developed so far," he said. In the visit to Kobangdikal Rear Admiral Suria Pornsuria was flanked by several Thai Submarine Squadron namely Captain Willers Samabut (deputy commander), Captain Surapong Phuaknoi (director of engineering), and Captain Wirote Sangkamies (deputy chief of staff submarine squadron). The Thai delegation was also flanked by Thai defense attache in Indonesia, Captain Apichat Punyakitiwat. Rear Admiral Sadiman meanwhile was flanked by Navy Operations Education Command Commodore Didik Wahyudi, director of education Colonel Eko Purwanto and others. The delegation also visited several education facilities at Kobangdikal.
