Batam, Riau, (Antara) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) departed for Natuna District, Riau Islands Province, on Friday to witness a military drill.
"President Jokowi traveled aboard the Presidential Aircraft RJ-85," according to a press release of the Media and Information Bureau of Presidential Secretariat received here on Friday.
After arriving at the Raden Sadjad Air Force Base on Friday morning, Jokowi traveled to Tanjung Datuk aboard a Super Puma helicopter.
In Tanjung Datuk, President Jokowi witnessed military exercises conducted by the Army's Strategic Reserves Command's Quick Reaction Strike Force.
The president is scheduled to return to Jakarta in the afternoon.
Coordinating Human Development and Culture Minister Puan Maharani, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Military Secretary Air Vice Marshal Trisno Hendradi, Presidential Security Detail Commander Brig. Gen. Suhartono, and presidential expert staff member Diaz Hendropriyono accompanied President Jokowi during the visit.(*)
