Jakarta, (Antara) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Rento Marsudi reported to President Joko Widido (Jokowi) a planned visit of Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte to Indonesia on November 21-24.

"Tonight he (Rutte) will arrive in Indonesia and will start activities tomorrow (Tuesday) in Semarang. He will be in Jakarta on Wednesday to hold a bilateral meeting with President Jokowi," said Retno after meeting with the President at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

Retno said the Dutch Prime Minister is accompanied by three ministers, including the minister of trade and development cooperation and a minister responsible for infrastructure. There will also be about 200 businessmen.

"So there will be a lot of business activities. The Netherlands is  one of our main partners in Europe," she said.

Retno said the trade, investment and tourism data showed that Indonesian-Dutch partnership is strong.
"So, I reported to the President our preparations because tonight the Dutch Prime Minister will arrive in Jakarta," the foreign minister said.

In addition to the main focus areas of economy, investment and tourism, Retno said there was also a new thing in the relations between Indonesia and the European Union, namely the FLEGT licensing scheme on timber products which has been implemented.

"This means that Indonesian timber products exported are no longer checked in the European ports," she said.

According to Retno, this is a competitive value of Indonesian wood products in entering the EU market. Indonesia should think further when the European Union standards are to be implemented.

"This will allow us to expand similar products to other regions. This is one of the subjects that President will discussed with the Dutch Prime Minister," said Retno.(*)
