Jakarta, (Antara) - Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Valiollah Mohammadi on Monday discussed counter-terrorism measures with Indonesia and said the two countries must join hands to combat terrorism.
"Indonesia and Iran discussed how to counter terrorism and radical groups movement," Mohammadi said, talking about his meeting with Wiranto, coordinating minister for political, legal and security affairs.
People who join radical groups will create hatred and be a risk to a country's political and economic stability, he said, adding that measures to combat terrorism should be taken jointly with other like-minded countries. "We believe the counter-terrorism measures need cooperation and assistance from other countries".
Iran's policy is to resist radical movements and parties that support and or fund terrorism.
Indonesia and Iran must review their cooperation on fighting terrorism and implement measures immediately, the ambassador said.(*)
